Framing Day 4

The rain from the storm did not seem to have an adverse affect on the house. As many have kindly pointed out, "if it will rain it will rain, and if there is damage it will be fixed, and there isn't much one can do about it, and it happens to all houses." So We are grateful God saved this little house from damage. There are pools of waters outside, and lots of mud everywhere from the framers going in and out, but that's expected. Marvin, the team lead said they will be close to done on Friday, but will need one more day.

The surprise of the day was seeing that they had framed the skeleton for the bonus bedroom, and we found that it makes a major change in house the house looks. It is also much larger on the inside that we expected.

    1. Thank you thank you :)
Side entry garages are required in this development otherwise we would have scratched the extra expense.. Gotta admit it is very nice though now that it is coming together.. having the side entry garage also allowed us to do the extended driveway hammerhead and all that, which may turn out to be worthwhile in the long run.

    1. Thank you. We too have no clue what it would look like when done :)

  3. The weather is out of our control. I figure if the rain was an issue they would cover the homes but they build houses in all types of weather. Looking good.

    1. Thank you! On a good note, perfect weather today to finish most of the framing, and this weekend when there will be no work. On a bad note, roofing is on Monday when there will be major rain. Can't win, but we are just like everyone else who is going through it.

    1. As you may agree, that bonus room on top of the garage is more important than where the garage door goes.. The side entry gives a false illusion of a bigger home though.

  5. This is looking so great! I am so glad to hear that you did not have any damage to your home. It was a terrible storm! I too love the side garage. That is a really, really cool feature of your home.

    1. Thank you thank you. Now damage that we can tell, besides a cracked window, but I assume the storm is innocent in that particular case!
